The Student Achievement Awards are RGU:Union's annual celebration of the outstanding work and commitment of student volunteers, societies and groups. RGU:Union provides a huge number of opportunities for students to get involved, and each year thousands of students join these groups and volunteer tens of thousands of hours to supporting students, running events and improving the student experience. There are a wide range of awards that are open to students and societies.
Society of the Year
The Society of the Year Award goes to a student group which has shown incredible growth and impact on the student community and exceeded the normal expectations for societies. These groups have shown initiative, gained acclaim and inspired others.

Academic Society of the Year
The Academic Society of the Year Award goes to a group which has provided significant benefit to the academic learning of other students. The society has been exceptional in developing new ideas, supporting students, gaining recognition and excelling in the year.

Non-academic Society of the Year
The Non-Academic Society of the Year Award goes to a society that has excelled at providing a fun yet engaging student experience for it’s members and those who have participated in it’s events or programmes. The society has been exceptional in developing engaging events, providing a worthwhile experience for it’s members and gained recognition in the wider RGU community.

The Volunteering Project of the Year Award is given to a project that brings together an exceptional amount of committed RGU students volunteering, that has allowed for excellent skills development and resulted in a remarkable impact on the community.

The Full Scarlet Award is given to our most outstanding and highest achieving students involved in extra-curricular activities. This award is for exceptional students who have shown incredible commitment, initiative, and leadership and been an inspiration to others.
