When do events and activities start?
This year's Refreshers events start on Monday 15th January. We will have daytime, evening and night events and activities taking place every day from the 15th through to the 19th.
Do I need to be 18 to take part in Refreshers?
No! Our Refreshers events and activities take place in a number of different locations on campus, online, and throughout the city. Unfortunately, due to licensing restrictions in place at some of these venues, certain events in our line-up have been labelled as 18+, you'll see this in the event description where it applies. You will be required to show ID when entering in order to prove your age. However, we have made every effort to ensure that as many events as possible are open to all ages, if you don't see an 18+ badge in an event description then there are no age restrictions!
Do I need to buy tickets for Refreshers events?
We know that moving away from home and coming to uni can be an expensive time, so we have tried to make sure that we have as many free events as possible on our line-up! Events taking place in our partner venues, will have door charges assigned to them, however you can get entry to all of these events by buying an RGU Refreshers Pass for AURA events for only £15. This will save you a huge amount compared to the standard nightclub entry charges throughout the duration of Refreshers. This pass is valid every night until 27/01/24.

How do I buy a Refreshers Pass?
You can buy your Freshers Pass through our official partner website (https://vip.membership.scot/memberships/c/9/t/rgu/). Follow these instructions:
1) Click the login button at the top of the page.
2) Create an account - During checkout you'll be asked to register an account.
3) Account login - Go to www.membership.scot to obtain your Refreshers Pass and unique QR Code.
4) Add your QR Code to your home screen for quick access on your device.
Do I need to have ID?
If you are attending an 18+ event, then you will need to show some kind of photo ID to prove your age. If you still have any questions regarding Refreshers Passes, email hello@rguunion.co.uk or post on the Facebook group.

RGU:Union and our partner venues, have teamed up to bring you a full week of top Refreshers headline events, and you can be part of the club nights by buying an RGU Refreshers Pass! This pass will get you free entry to all nights at AURA Nightclub for the duration of from 10th - 27th January.
Do you need to be over 18 to buy a Refreshers Pass?
Yes, Our partner venues are 18+ due to the alcohol license in place. This means that we can only sell passes to over 18s.
If I am under 18 and can't buy a pass, what is there for me to do?
We understand that it can be frustrating if you are not 18 during Refreshers, and we don’t want you to miss out on some of our biggest events and activities, so we have tried hard to make as many events as possible on our line-up open to all ages.
What if I turn 18 during Refreshers Week, can I buy a pass?
Yes, you are allowed to buy a pass if you will be turning 18 during Refreshers, however you will not be able to purchase/use it until your birthday.
Can my parents or somebody else buy my pass for me?
As your Refreshers Pass is assigned to your name/email, someone else cannot buy your pass for you.
Do I have to buy my pass online?
Yes, the passes are only available to buy online.
My friend is not an RGU student, can they buy a pass?
Of course, if you have friends that study at Aberdeen University, NESCOL, or any other University or College, they can also buy a pass to get access to our RGU Refreshers events.
