Up till now, Sony haven’t been able to say too much regarding the elusive and upcoming Playstation 5. In fact, Sony skipped mega-gaming event, E3, in which rival company Microsoft revealed details regarding the new Xbox which went by the name Project Scarlet

However, The CEO of Sony, Jim Ryan, was glad to announce the name of the new console as well as the date, "It's nice to be able to say it," he says, confirming that the Playstation will retain it’s iconic name, Playstation 5 . "Like a giant burden has been lifted from my shoulders."

Christmas for 2020 is sorted in this case as Xbox also plan on releasing the currently unnamed console for the festive season as well. This means that the vicious console wars will be back in full swing by the end of 2020.

Sony plan on boasting the graphic capability as well as improving the CPU. This time, the PS5 will ditch the spinning hard drive for a solid-state drive.

Another important features include changing the way games install, rather than treating games as a big clump of data, they are including the ability to just install particular parts of a game. Instead of installing the whole game, you may be able to just install the multiplayer campaign. This will work in the removal process as well, when you are finished the single player game, you can remove that part instead of removing the entire game.

They are also looking to support games bundled on at 100GB with ray tracing. As usual, blu-ray will also be supported on the system. However, the new system with be using 8K graphics, a power-saving mode that will use up less energy than the PS4s power-saving mode. The new controller will also include new adaptive triggers to intensive the gaming experience, based on what they do.

As well as the console, there are plenty of games to be looking forward to such as the following;

  • CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS 5 (2020)

  • HORIZON ZERO DAWN 2 (2020)

  • CYBERPUNK 2077 (2020)

  • GHOST OF TSUSHIMA (2020)

  • GODS OF WAR 2 (2020)

  • FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE (2020)

  • THE ELDER SCROLLS VI (2020)

  • THE LORD OF THE RINGS: GOLLUM (2020)

  • ASSASSIN'S CREED: KINGDOM (2020)
