President Education & Welfare
I have both academic and social representation experience, I have the skills and dedication to make a real impact on student life at RGU. I have been a Student School Officer & part of the Student Experience Sub-Committee at Aberdeen Business School, where I actively gather student feedback and collaborate with faculty to improve the academic experience. This role has strengthened my ability to advocate for students, support Class Reps, and ensure student concerns are addressed at a higher level
Enhance Academic Support & Student Representation: I will collaborate with Student School Officers and Class Reps to strengthen academic support and ensure students' concerns are addressed effectively. This includes improving feedback processes, advocating for assessment queries, and pushing for better academic resources for both undergraduate and Postgraduate students. I will also promote clearer communication between students and faculty, so student concerns are addressed more effectively.
Strengthen Mental Health & Well-being Services: Student well-being is equally important as academic success, and I am committed to improving mental health services at RGU. I will advocate for more accessible mental health support, including easily accessible counselling services, peer support initiatives, and well-being workshops. I will also push for stress-relief activities during exam periods and work to create a more open and supportive environment for all students.
Improve Student Engagement, Campus Life & Career Growth: University life is more than academics—it’s about building a strong, inclusive student community. I will enhance campus life through student-led activities, and social engagement while also collaborating with the Union, societies and Industry professionals to offer career-building workshops, and networking sessions, ensuring students are well-prepared for their future while enjoying a fulfilling university experience.
One of the biggest challenges RGU students face is mental health and well-being, especially due to academic pressure, financial stress, and limited support awareness. Many students struggle to balance their coursework, part-time jobs, and personal lives, often feeling overwhelmed without knowing where to seek help. I will work closely with the Student Union, Leadership Team, Presidents and Vice Presidents to create a more supportive and accessible environment.
