Education and Welfare
My journey at RGU has been deeply rooted in student representation and community involvement. As a class representative, I’ve actively advocated for my peers, ensuring their academic concerns are heard and addressed by faculty. This role has improved my communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. I’ve also been an active member of the RGU Union, participating in events and initiatives that promote student welfare and campus engagement.
Strengthening Learning Support and Student Advocacy I aim to ensure every student has the support to succeed academically while having their voices heard. This is a priority because many international students struggle with coursework and lack knowledge of how exactly the coursework is done. This makes students panic, leaving them feeling unsupported and unheard. I plan to achieve this by expanding tutoring programs, study workshops, and mentorship opportunities.
Mental Health and Well-being Support I aim to expand mental health resources and promote well-being on campus. This is a priority because mental health challenges are increasing, and many students feel unsupported. The problem lies in limited access to counselling services and the stigma surrounding mental health, which prevents students from seeking help.
Creating a Centralized Internship Portal I will create an internship portal in E Hub, making opportunities easier and more accessible for all students. This platform will list internships tailored to your field, with filters for location, duration, and paid vs. unpaid roles. I’ll achieve this by collaborating with the university’s career services, industry partners, and alumni networks to gather diverse opportunities.
I think the biggest issue that students are facing right now is lack of information about the facilities that University provides. If I become a president, I would like to engage with all the presidents and vice presidents to get the information out to the students about the career opportunities that university gives. With all the presidents and vice president, I would create a portal or a community on which all the international students can come up with their issues.
