President Sports and Physical Activities
As an active footballer, sprinter, and table tennis player, I have a strong athletic background that has given me the discipline and resilience necessary for this leadership position. My experience as a volunteer with "Young Achievers" at the Touch Of Love charity organisation, where I have assisted in planning and supporting various youth activities, including football, volleyball, and other sporting events, has strengthened my capacity to mentor, motivate, & engage with various groups.
First, accessibility & affordability—I will push for more subsidised memberships, free training programs, and increased financing for equipment and facilities. To ensure that all students, regardless of socioeconomic background, can engage in sports. I will also advocate for free beginner training programs so that more students can gain skills without worrying about the financial burden. I will further create outreach programs to encourage underrepresented students participation in RGU sports.
I will establish mentorship and internship programs in collaboration with gyms and professional sports organisations to offer practical experience. I will also arrange sports career workshops, guest lectures, and networking events in partnership with alumni & sports professionals to inform students about career options in the sports sector. To promote student entrepreneurship in sports by helping individuals wanting to launch companies like fitness coaching, sports blogging, or personal training
I will advocate for specialized training programs by employing qualified coaches and putting in place organised growth pathways for athletes at all levels. I will ensure the upgrading and maintenance of sports facilities to give students access to top-notch, secured training and competition spaces. I will obtain more grants, sponsorships, and collaborations to maintain the effectiveness of ongoing programs in order to guarantee long-term funding and sustainability through collaboration.
One of the current issues facing RGU students is financial problems for both the students and the university. This has resulted in students being withdrawn from the school as well as staff layoffs, thereby influencing the quality of education and student support services. If elected, I will work with others on important projects like promoting sustainable funding, looking into alternative revenue streams through grants and partnerships, and exploiting other student enrollment pathways.
