What relevant experience, skills and qualities do you have that make you a strong candidate for this elected position?
I have been president of RGU Boxing for the past year and learned how to work with a committee to build the club to the best of its ability and create a space where anyone feels welcome, myself and the committees ability to do so was recognised by the Uni as we the club won “most improved club of the year” I have also been in the role of VP of sport as Interim for the past semester and have gained valuable experience working alongside the current president Abhishek. We have some great things planned for the year ahead and I hope to stick around to see them through
Priority Aim 1
Build community: I look to work with all sports clubs to build the community within RGU Sports Clubs, I want to do this by creating space for clubs to better communicate and Facilitating joint club events
Priority Aim 2
Collaboration: connected to my original point, I want to help facilitate collaboration not only between sports clubs but also reach out to societies and the schools within the university to better connect the university as a whole
Priority Aim 3
Fundraising: I want to help clubs meet funding targets by hosting club open events where the funds raised will go towards all clubs.
What is the biggest issue currently facing RGU students, and how will you work with the rest of the Student Presidents and Vice Presidents to tackle this?
Mental health: I believe a lot of students struggle with mental health, I know I did myself back in first year, until I found the boxing club which gave me a place to exercise and meet new people.
