What relevant experience, skills and qualities do you have that make you a strong candidate for this elected position?

My experience as both a class representative in Accounting during my postgraduate studies and as a financial coordinator during my undergraduate years provides a robust foundation for the role of Student Union President. As a course representative, I effectively advocate for the needs and concerns of my peers, fostering open communication and collaboration within the department. My tenure as a financial coordinator honed my ability to manage budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure fiscal responsibility within organizations. These roles have honed my leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, enabling me to navigate complex issues and drive positive change. With a keen understanding of student concerns and a track record of effective leadership, I am committed to representing the interests of the student body, advocating for their needs, and working collaboratively to enhance the university experience for all.


Priority Aim 1

Advocating for flexible payment plans with financial institutions and service providers, easing the financial burden on students. Ensuring transparency in fee structures and equitable access to financial assistance programs to support students from diverse backgrounds. Establishing a feedback mechanism for students to voice concerns and propose improvements in financial policies.
Financial pressure on the student to pay their school fee was also seen as one of the factors that led to failure during their first-semester examination. Research conducted on how tuition fees are been paid in other universities 70% mandatory before the continuation of the second semester.


Priority Aim 2

Enhanced Transport Accessibility:

Implementing a student-focused transport system tailored to our needs, ensuring flexibility and convenience in commuting. Collaborating with local authorities to secure discounted student passes and extend transport services, easing the challenges of daily travel.

Introduction of a verification app on the first bus that will allow students to enter the public bus without, showing their student I.D, most students lose their student ID cards due to the request for student ID cards before entering the bus.

Cultural Adjustment to a new cultural and social environment can be challenging for some students as a whole,

Boosting Graduate Retention and Job Opportunities

Strengthening partnerships with industries, businesses, and alumni networks to expand job prospects and internships for graduates. Hosting regular job fairs and career expos to showcase diverse employment opportunities and facilitate networking opportunities. Supporting student entrepreneurship and innovation through mentorship programs and resources to foster startup ventures.


What is the biggest issue currently facing RGU students, and how will you work with the rest of the Student Presidents and Vice Presidents to tackle this?

Flexible Payment Options:

Advocating for flexible payment plans with financial institutions and service providers, easing the financial burden on students. Ensuring transparency in fee structures and equitable access to financial assistance programs to support students from diverse backgrounds. Establishing a feedback mechanism for students to voice concerns and propose improvements in financial policies. with a good reasonable payment plan that will suit student demand And also work with my vice presidents and other student presidents Focused on maintaining accurate, compliant records and controls responsive to dynamic operating conditions. Detail-oriented and methodical with excellent communication as a team to achieve objective.
