#morewithMOORE

Hello, I’m Jordan, a 4th year Nutrition student with an undeniable passion for sport and physical activity- what a coincidence! I would love if you continued reading to understand my key aims and if you believe I would be right for the role, vote for more with Moore in the election…

The overall student experience has a clear impact on the adherence, success and enjoyment of University. I believe that sport and physical activity is a key area in which this experience can be enhanced, and so, I am extremely passionate about working to optimise this outlet and shape student life, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility across all clubs and activities.

As a sports club member for four years, president of netball for two years, and Vice President of Sport for one, I have developed great knowledge of RGU SPORT and the Union, and so have an existing understanding regarding the operations and policies of both. This insight means if elected, I can quickly get to work on delivering my manifesto, creating impact and change.

If you haven’t seen me around, I’m never without a smile so will inevitably to bring my positivity to the role, which alongside my friendly and approachable nature demonstrates my drive and desire to support others, with no issue being too big or small.

Aims

At the heart of my campaign is a desire to reinstill the value of University sport and what it means to be a sports club member, and I believe the following aims are the best way to do so;

Design and implement full committee training and ensure all members feel well supported in their role, incentivise those who go above and beyond and make committee positions more desirable. Offer appropriate wellbeing and resilience training opportunities and support to all sports club members.

Develop a coaching infrastructure to enhance student experience and provide opportunity to be coached by qualified, experienced coaches. Bring more educational courses to Aberdeen and grow the number of student coaches and officials.

Encourage and promote a positive culture within sports clubs which empowers students to challenge inappropriate behaviour and ensure that our clubs are fully inclusive. Implement training and initiatives to ensure students feel confident and well supported in tackling such behaviour.

Promote participation and recreational opportunity within sports clubs and encourage non-active students and staff to become active. Think outside the box when it comes to being physically active and work on a University wide strategy to tackle inactivity.

Improve performance in all competitions across sports clubs, analysing development plans to seek potential areas of promotion and/or performance enhancement. Maintain a consistent fitness and strength and conditioning offering.

Re-evaluate club inventory’s and ensure all sports clubs and members have the equipment, kit and facilities to perform at their best. Challenge the VSN contract and regain confidence in design and delivery of both social and playing kit.

Continue to ensure financial sustainability of the sports club budget and accountability of members in regard to reaching fundraising targets and managing expenditure. Support clubs in their fundraising efforts and establish a new all club fundraiser in collaboration with a local charity.

Why Moore?

Balancing various roles and the final year of my degree has tested time management and organisation skills to the max, but I thrive on a challenge and with fingers crossed… I think I succeeded. It’s with this that I can say if I believe something is worth pursuing, I will try my very best to make it happen, maintaining transparency and communication throughout. From this, I always welcome a challenge and believe that President of Sport and Physical Activity is the next one for me.

Please use your vote and remember…

A VOTE FOR JORDAN IS A VOTE TO BRING YOU MORE AND MOORE EVERYDAY
