Someone aiming for Vice President International should focus on ways of promoting the education experience to all students throughout their stay at RGU and I believe I have the willingness, conviction and enthusiasm to do so. My name is Gonzalo Lara de Leyva and I am a Spanish student doing his 3rd Year Electrical & Electronics Engineering at RGU.
Over the years I have noticed that there are less companies coming to RGU to promote their placement and job offers. I believe this to be detrimental since students should have a wide scope of opportunities to know where they can gain experience and in which sectors they are able to work once they finish their degrees. I would like to develop ways to attract diverse companies from different sectors to RGU.
I am also keen on solving any problems which affect either local or international students regarding their experience at RGU and to promote any good iniciatives which are doing good to our community.
Moreover, as Spanish student at RGU, there is no Spanish-speaking society which represents the cultures and values that we, Latin Americans and Spanish people, share. Hence, if I became elected as Vice President Education, I would promote the Spanish-speaking society we are building throughout campus to serve as a reference and guide for us and to establish educational, profesional and intercultural relations with the various communities throughout campus.
Furthermore, I have been previously been chosen as Vice President of Environment & Ethics and, thus, I already have experience working with the Union and have been chosen two times as class representative, allowing me to apply all my knowledge and skills into this position.
Every vote counts and yours is no less. If you have liked my manifesto or wish to ask me any questions I will be willing to answer you. Thank you for your support.
