We offer our sincere condolences to the Royal Family and to all affected by the sad news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Obviously, this is a difficult time for the country losing a Queen who has served for 70 years.

As we head into Freshers Week this sad news highlights the importance of connecting with others, supporting each other and living life to the fullest. Freshers activities will begin on Saturday 10th September as planned.

We now head into an unprecedented period of mourning across the UK, and members of our community may be experiencing significant emotions, so we want to take this opportunity to ask you to support each other as we connect throughout Freshers’ Week and into the new academic year.

We also want to offer RGU Union’s support; you can reach out to us at any point by contacting your Student Presidents, the Union's Advice service, or the support services available across the University. Do not hesitate to reach out.
